- Replace or Clean the Air Filters: Air filters that are clogged and dirty will reduce the efficiency of your air conditioning unit. - Test the Air Conditioner and Thermostat: Once all the above steps are taken, test your air conditioning unit and thermostat. You will want to ensure they are working both correctly. Set it to cooling mode and lower the temperature to see if the air conditioner kicks in. Monitor the airflow and temperature to confirm that everything is functioning as it should.
